Elder Bak Fun Wong

Dr. Bak Fun Wong grew up in Hong Kong and came to the United States in 1978. He became a believer in 1964 and was baptized in 1969. He served as a Sunday School teacher, a fellowship counselor, and as a deacon at BCEC. He is one of the lay elders of BCEC. Bak Fun attended Hong Kong Baptist College and holds a Masters of Education from Boston University. He participated in a doctoral program at Boston College and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Wheelock College. He was the Principal of the Josiah Quincy Elementary School, the Deputy Superintendent of Schools and Leaders of Boston Public Schools, the Headmaster of Josiah Quincy Upper School, and currently a Special Assistant to the Superintendent. He serves on the boards of the Wang YMCA, Massachusetts Chinatown Trust Fund Committee, New England Medical Center, Bunker Hill Community College, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Harvard University Principal Center, and the Governor’s Public Education Nomination Committee. Bak Fun has been married to his wife Mei Kee Liu Wong since 1977. They are two of the founders of American Chinese Christian Educational & Social Services, Inc. (ACCESS).
