Benny was born in Hong Kong. He moved to the United States when he was eleven years old. The tragedy of the devastating South Asian Tsunami led him to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. After graduating with a degree in Computer Science from SUNY at Buffalo in 2005, he worked in the private sector for fourteen years. He was called by God in 2020 and enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary . After the graduation from Gordon-Conwell in 2023, God led Benny to join BCEC as the Director of Seniors and Outreach Ministries.
Benny Chiu is married to Uki Lau, and they have two children, Hannah and Matthew.
