Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”’ Matthew 28:18-20
We believe God called us to serve the local community as well as Kingdom work around the world. We send our members into the missions field for short and long term ministries, support long-term partners to make disciples, plant churches, do Bible translation, and equip the next generation of workers.

Transitions for our Global Partners
The past two years have been difficult for many of our global partners. A number of them were forced to transition to new countries due to new restrictions and policies of their host nations. Some had to make difficult choices to relocate due to acute family needs. All of them had to readjust to ministering in very different ways due to the pandemic.
Please continue to pray for all our partners to have the Spirit’s guidance, strong relationships with God and people, and opportunities to serve those who don’t know Jesus.
Special Projects funded in 2021
1. College campuses across America- 2030 Calling. InterVarsity
Did you know that only half of US’s colleges have active Christian ministries on their campuses? Our missionary, Tom Lin, President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is leading an effort to plant communities of Christian followers in all US college campuses by 2030. Our donation will help towards funding staff, recruitment, and training.
2. Catalyzing young leaders for Missions in Asia
Partnering with our missionary David Ro, BCEC’s special gift helped fund conferences and meetings of college students, seminarians and young adult leaders in East Asia and North America for the purpose of gathering, inspiring, and catalyzing missions sending movements.
3. Lebanon- Agricultural Development Project. Horizons International
Although we were not able to send short-term teams overseas during the pandemic, we were able to use money set aside for missions trips to help fund a strategic development project in Lebanon. Our missions partner, Horizons International launched an agricultural project to strengthen their capacity to serve the spiritual and physical needs of the community, expand its evangelistic reach, and provide more opportunities for discipleship and mentorship. They were able to acquire a piece of land where a new ministry center will be built. The rest of the farmland will be a self-sustainable resource to generate income and distribute food to Syrian refugees and other local families in economic hardship.

Short Term Missions
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10: 14-15
Short-term missions is a great tool for discipleship. It provides opportunities for participants to be trained, learn important aspects of ministry, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to seek God’s calling in their lives. It also provides members valuable spiritual lessons. Their faith in God is often deepened after seeing God at work. We partner with our global partners, local churches, and Christian agencies. We offer exploration and training sessions to prepare them for the trip. By serving the spiritual and material impoverished, God opens participants’ eyes to the needs of the world and learn how to partner with God in His work of global evangelism.
The map above shows the countries we have sent short-term missions teams in the past 30+ years. If you are interested in participating in short-term missions, please contact Lorraine Ho.

Annual Missions Conference
The Annual Missions Conference is a great way to learn what God is doing around the world and how we can participate in His work. Each November, the Mission Committee organizes a weekend of programs to educate our members on missions. The conference features outside speakers and our missionaries.
